Designers can create rich complex systems that players can sometimes have trouble learning. Though much can be achieved through good level design or in-game tutorial, this talk will focus on lower level elements intrinsic to how a game feels, looks, and presents its user experience. We will go over methods and techniques to improve game learning with respect to systems design, player controls, game mechanics, and feedback. We teach players invisibly, with the little overt explanation or tutorial.
